The Self Made Maverick Brand was started by a 21 year old West Indian college student who wanted to create something bigger than herself. As an artist with many passions, it was hard choosing a niche, after some reflection she decided to expand on her love for fashion. As someone well known for her fashion forward presence and effortless ways of inspiring others, she decided to share her style with the world. A style that is unorthodox, boundless and expressive. She has always been inspired by music, so she decided to pay homage to the artists who have innovated the world, the ones she considers Mavericks.

The name Self Made Maverick was inspired by a conversation she had with an old friend who referred to her as a maverick after hearing about her life's story. She recognized that despite all adversities she remained unbreakable and never allowed the world to cage her or limit her thinking. She is grateful for that friend's inspiration in teaching her what the word maverick means. Now it’s her goal to show you what a maverick is!
